What is WatchESPN?

Accessing your favourite ESPN channels, live sports and studio shows is easier than ever with WatchESPN. WatchESPN.com.au and the WatchESPN app have you covered with anytime, anywhere access to ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, ESPNNews, ESPNU and the SEC Network. WatchESPN access is available at no additional cost to fans who receive ESPN as part of their TV subscription through participating TV providers.

To start watching:

  1. Download the WatchESPN app for Apple or Android devices OR go to www.watchespn.com.au on desktop, tablet or mobile.
  2. Click ‘Sign In’ and select your TV provider when prompted.
  3. Enter your TV subscription username and password.
  4. Select the channel or on-demand content you want to watch.

How do I get access to WatchESPN?

WatchESPN access is available at no additional cost to fans who receive ESPN as part of their TV subscription through participating TV providers. So first, sign up for a television bundle that includes ESPN. Then, you will need to have an online account registered with a participating TV service provider to access WatchESPN. Please contact your TV service provider to set up an online account if you do not already have one.

How do I log in to WatchESPN if my TV provider is a participating provider?

You will first need to complete your online registration with your TV service provider. Please contact your TV service provider to set up an online account if you do not already have one. Upon completion, you will be able to use your TV service provider username and password to log in to WatchESPN at www.watchespn.com.au or by downloading the Apple or Android app.

Will I have to sign in every time I use WatchESPN?

You will only need to re-enter your credentials every 15 days, as long as you are accessing content from the same computer or mobile device and providing you don't log out of the application.

Is there a cost for WatchESPN?

Access to WatchESPN is available at no additional cost to fans who receive ESPN as part of their TV subscription through participating TV providers. However you may incur data charges from your internet or mobile provider when streaming content, so be sure to check these costs directly with your provider.

What is ESPN3? I haven’t seen it on my television.

ESPN3 is a broadband/mobile network for live sports programming delivering additional live sport that is not carried on ESPN’s linear television networks. ESPN3 broadcasts hundreds of live games and events online each year. Some events are exclusive to ESPN3, while others are streaming-enhanced versions of games from one of ESPN's television networks. Many ESPN studio shows and other programming will also made available on-demand. The programming in each country will vary.

What are ESPNNews, ESPNU and the SEC Network? I haven’t seen them on my television

ESPNews:

24/7 sports news. Featuring SportsCenter, plays of the week, studio shows and radio show simulcasts.

ESPNU:

Channel dedicated to coverage of American NCAA college sport. It includes Division I Men’s and Women’s basketball, Division I football, NCAA athletics championships and tons of other live sports action and studio shows from every US conference.

SEC Network:

Channel dedicated to the best college sports action and analysis from the South eastern Conference of NCAA college sports. More information here - http://secsports.go.com/watch

How long are games archived?

The length or archiving depends on the sports and rights clearances. Some content is only available for 24 hours, some are available for much longer.

What are the compatible mobile and tablet devices?

WatchESPN is available for use on the following mobile devices: Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad (must have OS 8.0 or later); Android phones/tablets running version 2.2 and above for apps and version 4.2 or less for mobile web. Blackberry devices and Windows Phone devices are not currently supported.

Why is my streaming quality poor or is always freezing?

If playback stalls, stops or plays slowly, try one or all of the following:

Why is my audio and video not in sync?

Make sure that you are not doing anything network intensive on the same connection, such as downloading or sharing large files, or playing online games. Next, try re-starting the video player to see if that resolves the issue. If the problem persists, contact ESPN Customer Care via the feedback page.

When I launch WatchESPN I see a black screen, nothing happens or there is no audio/video. What is wrong?

Video can take several seconds to display or you may be running a content filter, antivirus application or proxy accelerator that is preventing the streaming of video content. Please turn off these services and try again. If the problem persists, please contact ESPN Customer Care via the feedback page.

After logging in to WatchESPN, I am redirected back to the log in page. What is wrong?

WatchESPN utilizes cookies to log you into the player. You will need to enable cookies in order to access the player. Once you have updated your browser settings, you will be able to log in and access ESPN content. If the problem persists, contact ESPN Customer Care via the feedback page.
